CAAA Soccer Guidelines 2019
Games consist of two 20 minute halves per game. There is a 5 minute warmup and a 5 minute half time break.
Overtime will consist of a shootout. 3 shooters per team. If a tie continues, first team to score, when the other team has not, wins the tiebreaker. No game should end in a tie.
Teams can have 11 players on the field with a minimum of 7.
There is a 5 goal mercy rule. Wins are limited to a 5 goal difference. The game is played however the score doesn’t increase.
At all times, a minimum of 3 players per gender must be on the field at all times.
For safety concerns, players must wear shin pads to play on the field. Cleats are optional.
Jewelry is not allowed and must be taken off during play.
Sportsmanship
No parents are allowed to talk to referees or coaches during game play. This can lead to the disqualification of the parent team.
All players dressed for the game must play at some point during the game.
Coaches are encouraged to focus on fun and skill improvement for both teams, rather than competition.
Fair play and good sportsmanship are a necessity.
Shaking hands after a game is required, as well as thanking the referees is also encouraged by coaches and captains.
Please deal with all complaints directly with the person, however, unresolved issues should be brought to the commissioner.
